Just a perfect burger and fry combo. The double jalapeño bacon cheeseburger delivered. These are the places we need to stop at every time we can and keep them open forever.

What a Gem with Amazing Folks (and Food!) Seriously, this place is fantastic, and it all starts with the people. There's this young man named Eddie who's just the sweetest when it comes to animals. We saw him and the team at Sammie's taking care of a local stray—feeding her, trying to earn her trust. Those little acts of kindness really show you what this business is all about and why they stand out. It's more than just a restaurant; it's clear they genuinely care. And speaking of the restaurant itself, let's talk about the food! It's genuinely delicious, making every meal a real treat. Plus, the seating is fantastic, especially that relaxing patio right off the highway. It's perfect for chilling out and enjoying your meal. Even big rigs can park here easily, which is super convenient. Trust me, you'll want to check this place out! This Place Rocks: Great Food, Awesome Seating, and Kind Hearts! You know how some places just feel good? This is one of them. The staff here are incredible, especially Eddie, who's just so kind to animals. We actually saw them looking after a stray that hangs around Sammie's, feeding her and trying to get her to trust them. It's those little things that really make this spot special and show they've got big hearts. Now, onto the important stuff: the food is seriously good. Every dish we had was a winner! And the seating? Top-notch. They've got this relaxing patio that's perfect for kicking back with your meal. It's right off the highway, which is super handy, and even semi-trucks can park there easily. Honestly, with great food, comfy spots, and such caring people, you really can't go wrong. Highly recommend!

This place is a little off the beaten path. Had I not needed a bathroom, I probably wouldn't know it was there. They have a sign that says their bathroom is for paying customers so when I barged in with a full bladder, the man must've recognized the look. He urgently handed me the key and told me where to find the bathroom as I told him I'd order chips and salsa to-go. I figured even bad chips and salsa are still good! These were definitely not bad. After I returned the key they said to wait in my truck and they'd bring it to us. Their food smelled delicious, the chips and salsa were yummy and their service was impeccable

This worked out GREAT. I was trying to find a place where we could park easily in our motorhome, so we decided to give this a try. The parking worked out perfectly, and the food was great! For some reason I felt the need to order a jalapeño-popper bacon cheeseburger, and I'm not sorry! It was really freaking good, and I ate most of it, even though I usually only eat half of everything. My husband looked over and said, "You were hungry." I really wasn't; it was just such a delicious munchy mix of burger and crisp produce and sweet onions and jalapeño popper that I couldn't stop eating it. The fries were crinkle cut and tasted good, the fountain rootbeer was just the right amount of sweet. Bonus points for the nostalgia of remembering back when Hwy 70 ran right through the center of town, and this was the corner frosty. So glad to see it get a new life, and so nice to have easy access and ample parking! There's not much room in the dining room, but we ate outside on the patio, and it was quite comfortable.

Hidden Gem Alert! Sammie’s is the kind of hole-in-the-wall spot that reminds you why local joints are always worth exploring. I stopped in on a whim and left planning my next visit before I even finished eating. I ordered the Al Pastor crunchy taco and the Bubba Burrito, and wow. The taco was a flavor bomb—crispy shell, perfectly marinated pork, with just the right balance of sweet and savory. But the real showstopper? The Bubba Burrito. This beast is packed with five kinds of meat—chili verde, chicken, al pastor, carne asada, and carnitas—and somehow every single bite gives you a little bit of everything. It’s juicy, tender, and wildly flavorful without being overwhelming. No frills, no fuss—just ridiculously good food served with heart. Sammie’s is a must-try if you're anywhere nearby.
